Don’t let limited square footage diminish your bathroom’s comfort or appeal. Whether you’re working with a tiny powder room or a cramped primary bath, the right tile design can create the illusion of added height and width. Read on for 10 small-space tile tips that will make your bathroom look bigger and feel more luxurious.

1. Create the Illusion of Height With a Vertical Stripe

This tried-and-true design trick is one of the easiest ways to add a sense of height to your space. Whether you install subway tile in a vertical straight stack or a band of patterned tile–as shown in this chic shower–vertically oriented tile draws the eye upward, making the space appear taller. The Trois Bandes tile features a pointed diamond pattern that guides the eye along the length of the tile. We love how it’s paired with the Nordic Brown tile; the natural wood detail adds movement and expansiveness, helping the space feel both wide and tall.

2. Add a Sense of Width With Horizontal Stripes

Just as vertical stripes add height by drawing the eye upward, horizontal stripes create the illusion of width by guiding the eye across your space. Horizontally stacked subway tile is one of the most effective ways to achieve this look. You can enhance the sense of expansiveness by alternating two or more colors or finishes—like the glossy and matte Coco White tile stripes shown on this bathroom wall. Discover more design inspiration in our guide to classic subway tile layouts.

3. Tile the Tub Apron

If your tub takes up much of the bathroom real estate, you can help disguise its bulk by tiling the apron to match the surround. This elegant bathroom, designed by A Glass of Bovino, creates a sense of continuity with Firenze Carrara tile on both the tub and surround. The marble tile’s bold veining adds a sense of movement, enhancing the feeling of expansiveness. You can achieve a similar effect by extending your floor tile onto the tub apron.

4. Make a Statement Wall

Not only is it an opportunity to highlight a favorite tile, a statement wall can also make a room feel larger by creating visual distinction. In this small shower, the geometric-patterned Nikki Chu Zulu Cement tile delivers bold style. Its multi-directional design offers a range of layout possibilities—here, the zigzag pattern guides the eye both horizontally and vertically, adding a sense of height and width. The warm grey tones are echoed in the veining of the Nikki Chu Mrembo polished marble-look wall tile, maintaining tonal cohesion while allowing the patterned tile to remain the focal point.

5. Tile the Ceiling

Another way to disguise low ceilings is by extending your tile overhead. Here, designer Coco & Jack take handmade-look subway tile to the ceiling, helping this compact shower feel more spacious. The slight tonal and textural variations from piece to piece add subtle interest, making the small space feel even more luxurious.

6. Create Cohesion With Large Format Tile

One of the biggest home decor trends, large format tile requires fewer grout lines, helping spaces feel more cohesive and expansive. Any tile with a side longer than 23″ is generally considered large format, and The Tile Shop offers styles up to 48″ x 48″. This beautiful bathroom features the Livingstone Melange marble-look tile, with the floor tile extending halfway up the wall, adding even more breadth to the design. The marble-look tile’s contemporary mix of warm beige and cool grey veining, paired with the elegantly textured handmade-look subway tile, gives the space an air of quiet luxury.

7. Maximize With Mosaic Tile

Just as the cohesion of large format tile can make a space feel more expansive, mosaic tile—with its many small pieces—can make it feel larger by adding visual interest. The pieces of KitKat White tile resemble the thin rectangular shape of its namesake candy. Neatly stacked, as they are in this Japandi-style bathroom, they draw the eye both upward and across the wall, creating a sense of spaciousness even in a compact area.

Explore our extensive selection of mosaic tile to find a design that suits your style. 👉

8. Create a Sense of Movement

Though tile is a fixed element, there are ways to introduce a sense of movement into your design. The zigzag layout of herringbone or chevron-patterned tile naturally guides the eye across the space, tricking your senses into perceiving it as larger than it is. This lovely transitional bathroom, designed by Timber Trails, uses both patterns: large-format Siberian Pearl floor tile installed in a herringbone layout and Bianco Puro chevron mosaic wall tile.

9. Add Interest With a Checkerboard Pattern

You might have picked up on a theme—a great way to make a small space feel larger is to maintain continuity while adding visual interest. A checkerboard pattern—with its predictable yet varied layout—does both. While this design is often associated with classic black and white, there are many stylish variations. You can pair a muted and a bright-colored tile, a pattern with a solid color, two versions of the same pattern in different tones, two complementary stone tiles, or even add a third color for a buffalo check effect. Here, the Antique Aurea tile in Nero Trastevere and Bianco Navona draws the eye across the floor, helping the room’s footprint feel larger.

Shop our wide selection of checkerboard pairings to find a winning design.

10. Maintain Consistency

Too much variation in a small space can quickly become overwhelming. Using different sizes and shapes of the same material—like those found in our natural stone collections—lets you add visual interest while maintaining a cohesive look. This elegant bathroom features Volkas marble in a variety of formats, from the exquisite leaf-shaped Alison Victoria Elia mosaic tile to the refined finishing touch of the Volkas Somerset trim.

1. Bring in City Chic Design

Inspired by French scrollwork, the Alison Victoria French Connection Le Marais tile (also available in Montmartre [blue] and Saint Germain [dark green]) features an intricate, ornate design in a soft, patinaed beige. 2. Make It Modern Rustic

Infusing a sleek, stylish modern aesthetic with roughhewn details, modern rustic design has gained popularity for its unique blend of contemporary and natural appeal. One of the easiest ways to achieve this style is to pair warm, rustic natural materials with crisp whites.

This sophisticated kitchen, designed by @kindwelldesignco, features a Coco White Matte subway tile backsplash. The crisp, richly detailed, handmade-look tile complements the wooden range hood, woven-backed chairs and sleek cabinetry to create a beautifully textured space full of rugged refinement.

9. Create a Tile Focal Point

Add interest to your neutral design with a beautiful tile focal point. Typically installed behind the stove or sink and featuring a patterned or mosaic tile, a tile picture frame is created by “framing” a decorative tile with trim.

Here, the stove backsplash is distinguished by the transition from Roku White wall tile to the patterned Kelli Fontana Kloe In Bloom Ivory tile, interspersed with coordinating Kloe Ivory tile. Framed with Signature Black Matte Pencil trim, the stove backsplash focal point visually separates the cooking and prep areas, making the space feel larger and more defined.

10. Go to the Dark Side

Sleek and chic, subway tile is a go-to choice for all kinds of spaces. While white subway tile has long been popular in kitchens due to its associations with cleanliness, if you’re looking to put a twist on this style staple, black subway tile offers a fashionable alternative.

This cool, contemporary kitchen, designed by @albieknows, features Signature Black Matte Frame Subway tile. The framed edges add a sense of dimension, making this compact stove backsplash feel larger and more expansive.

This charming space, designed by Timber Trails, features Sampson marble mosaic tile. The beige-and-white marble basketweave pattern crisscrosses the backsplash, evoking traditional handcrafts. Featuring natural veining and a unique shape, the Alison Victoria Malibu Edit Pescador tile (also available in Pointe Dume [blue] and Matador [green]) creates a lovely sense of movement across this stylish stove backsplash. More than a century later, this versatile style still feels modern.

26. Harken to the Victorian Era

Featuring pressed designs, tin tiles were popular in the Victorian era for their style and affordability. This antique style is once again en vogue, now updated with the durability of porcelain and ceramic. Intricate raised designs inspired by Victorian patterns create both visual and tactile texture across walls and backsplashes. Here, Victoria Blanc is showcased on a kitchen pantry wall, featuring a subtle patina that evokes the look of painted tin.

This high-contrast Timber Trails–designed kitchen features Noir subway tile installed with white grout to match the crisp cabinetry. Punctuating the black brick-lay layout with clean white lines, the grout emphasizes the pattern and provides a visual throughline to the room’s lighter elements.

1. Add Perfectly Imperfect Details With Handmade-Look Tile

Made with a eucalyptus core and an oak veneer, engineered hardwood combines the beauty of solid wood with exceptional durability and sustainability. Featuring our exclusive Corlee Heritage Oak flooring, this bright, open space shows how you can extend this modern rustic element from your kitchen to the rest of your home.

This beautiful kitchen, designed by @reems_design, features Hampton Carrara subway tile installed in a herringbone pattern along the backsplash. The subtle grey and beige veining adds rich visual texture, creating a subtle tonal contrast that adds depth to this monochromatic space.

4. Choose Stone & Wood Looks

If you appreciate the beauty of natural stone but want to skip the upkeep, stone-look porcelain offers an exceptionally durable and easy-to-care-for alternative. Available in sizes up to 48″ x 48″, large format porcelain tiles pair the beautiful appearance of an expansive stone slab with the scratch-, water- and stain-resistant properties of porcelain. (And unlike natural stone, man-made porcelain will never require sealing.)

Here, Navona Bianco porcelain 24″ x 48″ backsplash tile is paired with Arbour Midlands Hickory Tavern wood-look luxury vinyl flooring. Together, these materials deliver the natural look of wood and stone but are easier to maintain, easier to install and easier on the budget.

5. Pair White Subway Tile With Wood Details

If you’re updating your kitchen, you might already have a white subway tile backsplash. This classic staple is incredibly versatile and, since it first came into popularity in the early 1900s, has continued to feel contemporary. To transition into a more modern rustic look, add natural accents to complement your white subway tile—like the chic wood-patterned range hood featured in this modern kitchen, designed by @almahomes.

Pro Tip: One of our most popular styles, subway tile works with a wide range of contemporary and traditional designs, making it an excellent choice if you like to update your space regularly.

6. Use Natural Stone for a Refined Rustic Look

While today’s marble-look tiles are more convincing than ever before, no man-made material can truly capture the uniqueness and luxury of real stone. No two pieces of slate, travertine or marble are ever the same, and it’s this authenticity that makes them perfect for modern rustic design. Expressive or subtly veined, marble tile adds a refined rustic aesthetic to your kitchen backsplash—as seen in this stunning space featuring grey- and beige-veined Siberian Pearl.

7. Match a Mosaic With Wooden Cabinets

Like natural stone, natural wood is beloved for its organic beauty and authentic feel, making it an ideal fit for modern rustic design. If your kitchen features wood with a distinctive or prominent grain, try highlighting that detail by pairing it with a geometric tile pattern—like the Imperial Light Grey Rombus tile (this tile is no longer available; achieve a similar look with Tory Light Grey) in this contemporary kitchen, designed by @cassandra_brand_interiors. The uniform grout lines running through this backsplash wonderfully contrast with the fluid, organic movement of the woodgrain in the cabinetry and range hood.

Going in another direction, @kjbhomesmpls chose Coco White Glossy for the backsplash in this fashionable kitchen. The sleek finish reflects light, brightening the space and providing contrast to the dark wood cabinets and black countertop.

Shop this best-selling white subway tile in matte and glossy finishes, plus three other neutral colorways: Canvas Matte, Canvas Glossy and Amber Grey Glossy.

10. Feature a Dark Natural Stone

Richly textured and authentically unique, natural stone embodies the essence of modern rustic design. While white marble complements a contemporary color palette, a dark stone—such as the Silver Grey quartzite shown here—adds drama to modern spaces, especially when paired with white cabinets and sleek black fixtures.

11. Pair Stone With Steel

To integrate stainless steel appliances into a modern rustic kitchen, balance them with natural materials elsewhere in your design. A natural stone backsplash—like the Royal White Hex marble featured in this stunning space—adds rustic charm while contrasting with the sleek modern appliances. We love how the crisp geometric hexagon tile brings a dynamic, organic sense of movement to this counter-to-ceiling backsplash.

12. Tile to Open Shelving

We love the look of tile extending from counter to ceiling in the previous space, but if your modern rustic kitchen needs added storage, consider reducing the height of your backsplash and using open shelving as a natural stopping point.

In this farmhouse-chic kitchen from I SPY DIY, customer-favorite Nuovo Riad Bianco tile is installed in a brick-lay pattern from the counter up to an extended wood floating shelf, which serves double duty as both a practical storage feature and a place to display a collection of rustic decor.

13. Create a Stylish Sense of Movement With Chevron Tile

The zigzag pattern of chevron tile naturally draws the eye across a space. When paired with the organic veining of marble, it creates a dynamic sense of movement that brings the room to life. In this gorgeous kitchen, designed by Nikki Chu, Meram Blanc Carrara Chevron tile adds soothing visual texture through its soft white and grey tones. The wicker light fixture introduces an extra layer of rustic warmth that balances the stone beautifully.

If you love the fluid movement of this backsplash, shop our wide selection of chevron tile.

14. Incorporate Organic Designs

If you think pattern has no place in modern rustic design, think again! Nature-inspired motifs can add unexpected delight to your space while staying true to the style. This charming kitchen features Morris & Co. Hawkdale Willow Olive tile; the lovely leaf pattern—drawn from historic William Morris wallpaper—adds a touch of greenery that feels both organic and modern.

Shop our wide selection of patterned tile to discover more nature-inspired designs.

15. Pair Dark Tile With Blonde Wood

Modern rustic design favors natural colors and textures, but there’s still plenty of room to express yourself while maintaining a neutral palette. Here, @thedivinelivingspace designed a space that is both soothing and tonally complex. By pairing Glass Stoney Grey tile with blonde wood and white cabinets, the room achieves a tranquil balance of contrasting elements.

16. Fill a Large Space With Mosaic Tile

The small pieces that make up mosaic tile create a complex tableau that can make any space feel larger and more dynamic. In this beautiful kitchen, designed by Timber Trails, Hampton Carrara Tumbled Large Herringbone mosaic tile covers the expansive backsplash, providing stunning texture that stands out against the white cabinets, walls and ceiling. In a space this open, a limited palette of colors and textures maintains a sense of tranquility, while the exposed wood beams and wide stone backsplash add subtle contrast and interest.

If you love this richly textured look, explore our wide selection of mosaic tile.

17. Weave a Beautiful Backdrop

Crisp white and warm beige marble are woven together in the Sampson mosaic tile featured on this elegant kitchen backsplash. The intersecting lines of the basketweave design give the space a sense of movement that feels both orderly and organic. Gold hardware elevates the look with sleek, contemporary style, while wooden accessories enhance the tile’s subtly rugged aesthetic.

18. Infuse Your Space With the Textured Detail of Tumbled Stone

Created by quite literally tumbling raw stone with rocks, tumbled marble is at once smooth yet subtly textured. This timeworn look enhances the warmth and character that define modern rustic interiors. Here, Meram Blanc Carrara tumbled marble adds depth and personality to the counter-to-ceiling backsplash while maintaining the soft, neutral color scheme that highlights the wood accents found throughout the space.

19. Add Natural Color

Crisp white stone walls are emblematic of modern rustic design, but there’s still room for color in this contemporary style. To add vibrancy, choose hues that echo the palette found in nature. Green and blue—especially in darker or muted tones—create a calming contrast to warm-toned woods and textured stone. To further enhance the rugged, organic feel of your space, opt for handcrafted Zellige or handmade-look tile, such as the Zellige Dirty Blue Gloss tile shown here.

20. Combine With Coastal Design

There are as many design styles as there are homes—and the people who live in them—because every space, like every person, is unique. If your home already reflects a particular style, or you’re drawn to more than one aesthetic, consider blending them to create a space that truly expresses your individuality.

This kitchen, featuring subtly textured Jeffrey Alan Marks Natural Zen Birchwood White tile, white cabinetry, and a wooden countertop, embodies many characteristics of modern rustic design, while also expressing the breezy elegance of coastal chic style. By blending refined and raw elements, modern rustic design works beautifully with a wide range of contemporary looks.

If you love this relaxed, beachy vibe, explore our exclusive Jeffrey Alan Marks designer collaboration.

21. Go Dark

While modern rustic style often favors a light color palette, incorporating darker elements adds weight and depth to your space. When choosing a dusky tile, select a material that stays true to the style. Black stone and handmade Zellige tile—like the Zellige Dark Grey Gloss tile shown here—embody the rugged, natural aesthetic characteristic of rustic design.

22. Combine Modern Rustic With Industrial Design

The modern side of this versatile style makes it especially compatible with industrial design. Whether you live in an urban loft or a suburban ranch, you can incorporate metals and cement—or cement-look large format tile—into your modern rustic space to create a chic industrial vibe. This stylish kitchen, designed by Angelia Guthrie, features a Calcata Evora Honed tile backsplash; the subtly veined white marble softens the stark industrial elements in this cool, open space.

The iconic zigzag of a herringbone pattern brings instant movement and sophistication to any wall or floor. This timeless layout works beautifully with nearly any rectangular tile—from oversized formats to petite mosaics. Ahead, explore 12 of our favorite herringbone tile and flooring ideas to inspire your next project.

1. Serene Subway Tile Floor Design Ideas

A herringbone tile floor creates a sense of movement that draws the eye across the space, giving the illusion of added square footage. In this soothing design, the Coco Canvas Matte subway tile features perfectly imperfect detailing that enhances the layout’s natural flow.

2. Turn It 45 Degrees

Herringbone tile is traditionally installed on a diagonal, but rotating the layout 45 degrees adds instant visual intrigue. In this luxurious marble bathroom, a picture-frame accent on the shower wall showcases a unique intersecting herringbone pattern. Calacata Evora Honed Marble subway tiles are laid in alternating vertical and horizontal rows, creating a stair-step effect where the tile points meet—adding depth and movement to the space. We especially love how the complementary grout shade blends seamlessly with the marble’s background tone, letting the stone’s natural variation and veining shine through. It’s an understated yet impactful design choice that speaks to refined elegance.

3. Change Sizes to Create Distinction

Herringbone is a versatile pattern that easily scales up or down. Herringbone mosaic tile comes in a range of sizes, colors and materials. This beautiful bathroom features Arctic White herringbone mosaic on the floors in both Large and Small sizes. The change in scale creates distinction between the main bathroom and shower while maintaining continuity between the spaces.

4. Pick a Parquet-Look Design

Recreate this timeless look with waterproof, scratch- and stain‑resistant wood‑look tile. This Timber Trails–designed mudroom features California Wood Mini Parquet porcelain tile, whose distressed white wood-look details feel both rustic and refined.

From the French word for “little compartment,” parquet flooring is traditionally made from small, precisely cut wood boards arranged in a mosaic or geometric pattern (herringbone being the most popular of these layouts). Recreate this timeless look with waterproof, scratch- and stain-resistant wood-look tile for a floor that’s as durable as it is stylish. This Timber Trails–designed mudroom features California Wood Mini Parquet porcelain tile. With its distressed white wood-look details, this tile floor feels both rustic and refined.

5. Frame the Windows

Rather than abruptly cutting off the herringbone design at the windows, this kitchen backsplash, designed by @twiggandlu_designco, frames them with vertically and horizontally stacked Look Oliva tile. Contrasting white grout accentuates the pattern, highlighting the change in direction. While we love the consistency achieved by using the same tile for both the backsplash and window frames, you could add even more interest by introducing another color.

6. Add Width with a Double Herringbone Design

Double up your herringbone layout for a chic look that’s twice as nice. Retaining the elegant sense of movement of the single pattern, the stacked layers of this style create a subtle basketweave effect. This pup-approved bathroom by @annagraham_interiors features Signature Slate Blue Gloss subway tile in a double herringbone layout, adding visual weight and texture to the wall.

7. Match a Field Tile With a Herringbone Mosaic

A “field tile” is the main tile that covers the majority of a space, providing a backdrop for decorative mosaic tile. Many of our herringbone mosaic tiles coordinate with large-format field tile, allowing you to create a beautiful, cohesive design.

Here, the Laura Park Seaside Marble large-format tile covers the walls, while the coordinating Seaside Marble Herringbone tile creates a decorative accent on the shower bench and floor. Stylish and practical, the grout joints provide traction on the shower floor for added safety.

Discover fresh, art-inspired designs for every space in our exclusive Laura Park designer collection. 👉

8. Switch Directions to Create Distinction

Your tile layout can help define a space—such as distinguishing the cooking zone from the prep area on a kitchen backsplash. This contemporary space features Tribeca Basalt subway tile installed in a bricklay layout along the prep area, then switching to a herringbone layout behind the stove. The change in layout visually separates the spaces while maintaining cohesion.

9. Create a Fashionable Layout with Patterned Tile

This unique layout features Nikki Chu Zulu Cement tile—also available in Graphite (black) and Pumice (beige)—installed in a herringbone pattern. By pairing two of the abstract arch designs, the patterned tile forms a zigzag that leads the eye upward and across the space, giving the chic shower dynamic visual interest.

10. Use Large Marble for a Sense of Expansiveness

Just short of the 23″ that designates large format tile, the 8″ x 20″ Volakas marble tile stretches across this elegant bathroom floor. The natural veining in the marble adds interest to the zigzag pattern, while the oversized tiles and complementary grout lines keep this design feeling refined and understated.

Explore our wide selection of large format tile to achieve this look. 👉

11. Make a Point With Chevron Tile

Add an edge to your dynamic design with chevron tile. A close kin of the herringbone pattern, this tile offers similar zigzag movement, but the ends are cut to meet at a point rather than overlapping like rectangles. The result is an invigorating geometric design, as seen in this beautiful Nikki Chu–designed space featuring Meram Blanc Carrara Chevron tile.

Crisp and pristine, white makes any space look and feel clean—the perfect shade for a bathroom vanity. Whether you’re searching for tile ideas to pair with your existing fixtures or planning a full bathroom redesign, these 24 design ideas will help you choose the right tile or flooring to complement your space and style.

1. Match White on White

Brilliant and bright, white won’t overwhelm the senses like more saturated hues. It’s perfectly acceptable to pair a white tile with a white vanity, but to prevent your space from feeling too stark, consider adding tonal variations elsewhere.

Here, the Coco White Glossy wall tile is paired with a white vanity, but the straight-stack subway installation features soft beige grout that echoes the pinkish beige countertop and sink basin. The subtle shift between the tile and grout tones softens the look of the all-white design while black accents add contrast.

Shop our selection of white tile for more tonally cohesive ideas.

This airy bathroom features the Jeffrey Alan Marks Sand Dollar Ocean tile. Its radiating pattern in cool blue offers a subtle coastal nod, while the white vanity and wainscoting balance the design, creating a space that feels crisp and open, yet rich in visual texture.

6. Choose Lush White Marble

Crisp or creamy, white marble brings beautiful, understated elegance to any space. Pair a white vanity with white marble for an effortlessly fashionable look that works with a range of traditional and contemporary styles, like this Annie Selke–designed bathroom, which exudes Hollywood glamour. If you love this exquisite space, explore our exclusive Arctic White collection for warm, white marble in coordinating field, mosaic and trim pieces.

7. Add Durable Natural Detail With Luxury Vinyl

If you love the look of wood or stone but not the maintenance, exceptionally durable luxury vinyl flooring offers an affordable, easy-to-install alternative. Made from 100% waterproof material, luxury vinyl—like the Cyrus Plus Akadia shown here—lets you achieve a natural wood look in a moisture-prone bathroom. We love how the blond wood detail complements the white vanity in this contemporary space. Note: Luxury vinyl is not recommended for wet rooms or showers.

8. Bring a Pop of Blue

Like a statement belt, a pop of color in an otherwise white room makes your design feel elevated and intentional while adding visual interest. Here, @kalensplace pairs a double white sink vanity with the Laura Ashley Wicker Sea Spray Matte tile. Featuring a light blue background with a whimsical geometric floral motif, this tile adds color without overwhelming the space. On the floor, it helps ground the room; however, it would also look stylish on a wall or backsplash.

Shop your favorite colored tile to add a pop of your favorite hue.

9. Make It Artistic With an Abstract Pattern

Patterned tile comes in a wide range of styles—from dainty florals to dynamic geometric designs. If your aesthetic leans more toward cool eclectic than ornate elegance, consider an abstract pattern.

This chic bathroom features the Nikki Chu Zulu Cement tile—also available in Pumice (beige) and Graphite (black). Globally inspired and effortlessly suave, this tile infuses the space with a high-fashion look that pairs perfectly with the simple white vanity.

Explore our exclusive Nikki Chu designer collaboration for more abstract motifs in fashion-forward neutral color palettes.

10. Marvel With a Marble Mosaic

Mosaic tile’s small format draws the eye along and across the wall or floor, creating a sense of expansiveness, while the natural veining in marble introduces delicate movement. Combine the two for a space that feels both invigorating and serene. Pair a marble mosaic—like the Alison Victoria Malibu Edit Pescador shown here—with a stately white vanity to create an opulent tableau rich in visual interest.

Love this exquisitely elegant look? Shop our wide selection of mosaic tile.

11. Embrace English Country Cottage Design

If cozy elegance is your design sweet spot, English country cottage style might be your cup of tea. Combining the comfort of your grandma’s living room with the sophistication of Jane Austen’s drawing room, this style is equal parts ornate, quaint and whimsical.

Here, a feminine sink vanity is paired with the Laura Ashley Mr Jones Charcoal tile. The charming geometric floral pattern, inspired by the iconic British brand’s textile designs, adds an air of playful refinement to the space.

15. Pick a Penny Tile Backsplash

Small but mighty, penny tile brings shape to your space, adding visual texture and interest—even when pairing a white vanity with a white backsplash. Notice how the Penny Round Gloss White creates a scalloped edge and subtle texture. We love how the cohesive white pairs with the blue accent walls and gold fixtures, but to accentuate your design further, you could install the penny tile with contrasting grout.

16. Add Dramatic Contrast

If you love the drama of a high-contrast design, consider pairing your white vanity with black floor or wall tile. This stylish space features the Noir Chevron tile. The black limestone showcases natural stone details, including delicate white veining, creating a visual throughline from the black-veined white stone countertop to the white vanity and mosaic floor tile.

17. Create a Playful Design

Designed for her young boys, @handmakeshome created a custom wall and floor layout that is both playful and classy. Glass subway tile in White, Storm and Light Blu is arranged in a straight stack with alternating checks and stripes. The hopscotch effect is cheerfully invigorating while maintaining neat lines. On the floor, Penny Round Gloss White tile is installed with a custom border of Penny Round Cloudy tile—its dark and light blue tones echo the coloration of the wall tile.

While a blue vanity would fit with this color scheme, the white vanity helps ground the space with sophistication, creating a room that not only serves young kids but will grow with them.

18. Show Your Stripes

Neat and chic, stripes deliver style while creating the illusion of height or width by drawing the eye along the wall or floor, making your space feel larger. This Timber Trails–designed bathroom features the Hex Matte tile in Black and White, arranged in long stripes across the floor. The monochromatic design echoes the white vanity and black countertop, though you could achieve a similar look in your preferred color scheme using virtually any two same-size hexagon tiles—or, for straight lines, two same-size subway tiles.

A dynamic shape, it combines diagonal and horizontal or vertical lines to create a wonderful sense of movement in your space. 21. Play With an Unexpected Checkerboard Pattern

Checkerboard is a timeless pattern that adds playful sophistication to any space. While a black-and-white square pattern is always on trend, if you want to put a fresh spin on tradition, consider mixing colors in unconventional shapes, like hexagons, subway tile, or large-format rectangles. Here, @pineislanddesign deconstructs the traditional board with the Cassettone Black mosaic tile. Featuring black squares with white borders, this design retains all the charm of a classic checkerboard while offering a unique twist.

As another inspiring year of design comes to a close, we’re turning our attention to the trends that will define 2026. In 2025, we embraced new ways to express individual style through timeless, lasting design. As we move into the new year, we foresee that an emphasis on sustainability, authentic materials, and organic patterns and shapes—along with a resurgence of time-honored styles—will define spaces that continue to celebrate individuality.

Read on to discover 15 of our top tile design predictions for 2026—timeless looks and ideas that will shape the year ahead and inspire beautiful spaces you’ll love for years to come.

1. Modern Rustic

Characterized by warm, muted neutrals, natural materials and an atmosphere of relaxed refinement, modern rustic design is contemporary and sophisticated, yet still cozy. This style is perfect if you’re looking to update your modern farmhouse home—many of the same principles of approachable earthiness apply, but with fewer literal farmhouse elements.

This wet room, designed by HGTV star Alison Victoria, features a wall of rough-cut stone paired with the opulent Bianco Puro chevron marble mosaic, proving that this rugged style can also be elegant. If you love the warmth of modern farmhouse but are drawn to spaces that are a bit more streamlined, modern rustic is the perfect evolution.

This modern rustic wet room features a white marble chevron tile floor and a rugged warm stone wall.
Featuring: Bianco Puro Chevron.

2. Pleated Materials

Soft and romantic, pleats are rippling through the interior design world—offering unique tactile and visual texture in unexpected materials and spaces. This beautiful entryway features Kelli Fontana Tommas Classico marble-look wall tile. The raised, fluted pattern mimics pleats found in fabric, adding dimension and a dynamic quality as the pattern casts shadows in shifting light (you can achieve a similar look using Home Kit-Kat tiles). Kelli Fontana Patina Mirror tiles in Eclipse and Siren also contribute depth to the space.

3. Hand-Painted Motifs

Playful and expressive, painterly patterns have been gaining popularity over the past decade—and we predict they’ll continue to bring beauty and joy to interiors in the coming year. The chic bathroom below captures this trend perfectly with tiles from our exclusive new Laura Park collection.

The Cosmo Aegean Blue porcelain wall and floor tile, adapted from one of Laura Park’s signature wallpaper prints, brings artistic flair to the room’s floor with its hand-painted-look floral pattern and expressive brushstrokes. Soft blue tones flow seamlessly into the Seaside Marble wall tiles and coordinating shower floor mosaic, creating a serene, cohesive space full of color and charm.

Explore our wide selection of patterned tiles to discover more hand-painted motifs to suit your style.

4. Modern Organic

Much like rustic modern design (featured at #1 on this list), modern organic design celebrates natural materials and earthy tones—but with a more curated, minimalist sensibility. This style balances warmth and simplicity, pairing clean lines with organic texture and pattern for a look that feels effortlessly sophisticated.

In this serene patio, the Nikki Chu Tangier Pumice tile captures that balance beautifully. Its hand-drawn geometric motif introduces subtle movement and contemporary structure, while the soft, neutral palette grounds the space in nature. The result is a harmonious blend of modern polish and organic ease.

Explore our exclusive Nikki Chu designer collection for more organic patterns and contemporary neutral palettes.

5. Rich, Earth-Toned Neutrals

Say goodbye to millennial grey! The trend toward beige, warm white, earthy greens and muted blues will continue into the new year. Far from boring, these rich neutrals offer complexity and a connection to nature, creating deeply expressive spaces that move away from the starker, more industrial feel of the cool tones that defined much of the early 2000s.

This sumptuous space showcases Nuovo Riad wall tile in Bianco and Creme, installed in a chic checkerboard—another popular trend we expect to see more of in 2026. The warm browns and blacks in the Terrazzo Bianco Micro floor tile (this tile is no longer available; achieve a similar look with Terrazzo Bianco Macro tile)–which pops up again in trend #15 on this lis–adds even more visual texture.

This warm neutral bathroom features a white and beige checkerboard wall tile and terrazzo-look floor tile.
Featuring: Nuovo Riad Bianco, Nuovo Riad Creme and Terrazzo Bianco Micro (tile no longer availale; achieve a similar look with Terrazzo Bianco Macro).

6. Berry Hues

Warm mahogany, deep purple and dark cherry red have already been named colors of the year by some of the top paint brands—and we predict these rich berry hues will continue to grace spaces for years to come. This retro-inspired bathroom, designed by @johnmartinestudio, features Imperial Sienna gloss square mosaic tile (this tile is no longer available; achieve a similar look with Imperial Red Gloss). The deep red hue is balanced by the warm light wood vanity and off-white walls.

This retro-inspired bathroom features small red square mosaic tile and white and red hex floor tile.
Featuring: Imperial Sienna Gloss (tile no longer available; achieve a similar look with Imperial Red Gloss), Imperial Sand Gloss Hex and Imperial Sienna Gloss Hex. Design and photography by @johnmartinestudio.

7. Raised Wood Patterns

Compatible with several contemporary and traditional styles—such as modern rustic, modern organic, Japandi and biophilic design—raised wood patterns have been growing in popularity for years, and we predict they will appear in even more spaces in the year to come. Featuring a range of designs—like the geometric cross shape in the Tavola Decor tile shown here—these tiles create a sensory experience with natural appeal. Explore our wide selection of wood-look tile for more unique motifs.

This contemporary bathroom features a fluted raised wood-look tile and light veined marble tile.

8. Color and Material Drenching

Color drenching—the process of bathing a room, including doors, ceilings and trim, in a single color—will continue to be popular in 2026. For the bold, this trend extends to materials as well as color. Saturating an entire room in a single hue—or even a single tile—adds depth and can make your space feel larger. Here, Costa Emerald Mix mosaic tile covers the walls and floors with rich green tones. We love how the band of gold metal trim breaks up the design—small details like this add visual interest to a monochromatic space.

9. Sustainable Materials

Sustainability is always in fashion, and in the years ahead, the focus on recycled, natural and environmentally friendly materials will continue to shape home design. Featuring a durable eucalyptus core and a real wood veneer, our Corlee engineered hardwood collection offers natural beauty along with exceptional durability, easy installation and a lower impact on our forests.

10. Terracotta Revival

Rustic and warm, terracotta and terracotta-look tile are a natural fit for many contemporary design styles gaining prominence in the coming year. Evoking a chic Southwest aesthetic, this rust-colored tile instantly brightens a space with rich, complex tones. This stylish room, designed by @northstardesign.co, features Kasbah Star and Cross Terracotta tiles. Their handmade look and Moroccan-inspired design add depth and interest to the modern rustic space.

This kitchen island features terracotta-look star and cross patterned tile.

11. Handmade Ceramics

Our preference for handcrafted designs and authentic materials will continue into the new year, with a particular appetite for handmade ceramics throughout the home. Fully embrace this trend with our Zellige collection tile—each piece crafted, painted and glazed by hand using centuries-old techniques. Here, the Zellige Shamrock and White Gloss petite subway tiles demonstrate that historic design and expert craftsmanship can be used to create stunning contemporary spaces.

12. Art Deco Designs

Curves, geometric patterns and mixed materials—the defining style of the 1920s—is making a roaring comeback in the 2020s. If you think this decadent, carefree style is the bee’s knees, explore our wide assortment of waterjet mosaics, many of which feature mixed materials in flapper-era patterns—like the Christie Volkas tile shown here.

This sink backsplash features a marble with metal detail scalloped mosaic tile.
Featuring: Christie Volakas. Design and photography by @idealcdr.

13. Grout as a Design Element

Essential to any tile design, grout color can dramatically affect the look of a space. Choosing a contrasting or complementary color determines how much you highlight your tile layout. While high-contrast grout creates drama and depth, low-contrast grout offers a subtler, more organic effect. Here, white subway tile is installed using Whisper Grey grout for a softer look.

14. Unique Shapes

Creating interest through lines that offer dynamic movement, uniquely shaped tile will create distinct spaces in the coming year. From charming leaf motifs to unconventional scallops—like the Alison Victoria Malibu Edit Pointe Dume tile shown here—these exceptional silhouettes infuse spaces with character and unparalleled allure.

Explore our wide selection of uniquely shaped tile for more extraordinary designs. 👉

15. Terrazzo-Look Porcelains

Mimicking the look of authentic terrazzo tile—a composite material containing flecks of stone, glass and marble—these tiles offer beautiful visual texture and superior durability. This warm, contemporary space, designed by @craftandtheory, features the Terrazzo Bianco Micro tile (this tile is no longer available; achieve a similar look with Terrazzo Bianco Macro tile). Its earthy tones and organic texture work well with a variety of styles trending in 2026. Shop Terrazzo porcelain tile in all four colorways: Bianco Macro, Azzurro, Nero Macro, and Nero Micro.

]]>
The bathroom is one of the most essential—and most frequently used—spaces in any home. It’s also where safety and design intersect in especially important ways. Thinking ahead to how your bathroom will serve you in the years to come is one of the smartest investments you can make.

While many safety features can be added later, planning ahead allows you to integrate them seamlessly into your bathroom’s design today. You don’t have to sacrifice style for function—these thoughtful choices help create a true “forever home.” By incorporating features that anticipate future needs, you can enjoy a beautiful retreat now while also building in peace of mind for years to come.

From slip-resistant flooring to easy-to-navigate layouts, these ideas not only support aging in place but also reflect universal design principles—making daily routines more comfortable for people of all ages and abilities. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, caring for a loved one, or simply planning ahead, here are eight bathroom tile ideas that prove safety and style can go hand in hand.

1. Choose Floor Tile With Grip

One of the most common household hazards is slipping and falling. You can help prevent accidents by choosing bathroom floor tile that provides traction even when wet. Slip-resistant options like tumbled stone, matte or honed porcelain tile and mosaic tile offer better grip and help reduce the risk of falls.

This chic primary bathroom, designed by Julie Howard for Timber Trails, proves that safety doesn’t have to come at the expense of style. The custom floor design, made with Penny Round Gloss White and Penny Round Cloudy mosaics, is not only fashionable, but the tiles’ small format and many grout joints also provide extra traction throughout the space.

2. Invest in a Wet Room

A wet room—an enclosed area that contains a shower head (or two) and sometimes even a tub—provides the space needed to move comfortably, regardless of mobility. This luxurious West Bay Homes–designed wet room features Claros Silver travertine floor tile and Atlanta White marble-look porcelain wall tile. When properly sealed, the honed and filled travertine offers traction to help prevent slipping, and the grout lines in the hex mosaic add extra grip. The porcelain wall tile is both durable and easy to clean, for simple upkeep. This space is large enough to comfortably accommodate a wheelchair or a second person to assist with bathing, and you could make it even more accessible by adding grab bars, a lower handheld showerhead and a bench.

3. Install a Curbless Shower

Even if you don’t have space for a full wet room, removing the curb can significantly improve your shower’s accessibility. Eliminating the step makes it easier for anyone to enter, including those who use a wheelchair. This subtle update creates a more functional space without compromising style—as seen in this chic open shower—but be sure your shower floor is properly sloped toward the drain to prevent water from pooling or flooding.

In addition to being curbless, this shower features an extra-wide entry for easy maneuverability and a herringbone mosaic floor tile to provide grip (as suggested in idea #1 on this list).

4. Highlight the Shower Entry With Contrast

For another layer of safety, make the shower threshold easy to spot with contrasting tile colors. For example, a black curb against a white floor, or darker grout outlining the edges, creates a visual cue that reduces trip hazards without sacrificing design.

While the shower shown below features a raised curb, the designer has ensured the area is clearly visible; a white honed marble curb piece pops against the matte black porcelain floor inside the shower and beyond. Selecting a high-contrast color for the curb signals to the eye that this is an area of transition, making it harder to overlook. It’s a small but significant choice that can make a big difference.

5. Add a Shower Bench or Seat

A shower bench is a smart upgrade that can be enjoyed at any age. While a freestanding bench can be placed in a large enough shower, a built-in bench has the advantage of staying securely in place during use. It can also be designed to match your shower tile, helping it look and feel seamlessly integrated into the space.

This elegant bathroom, designed by West Bay Homes, features a Moonstone Off White tile bench to coordinate with the Moonstone Off-White Picket mosaic floor tile, offering a stylish, cohesive safety update. Ensure your bench is installed at an ergonomic height—typically 17″ to 19″—to make sitting and standing more comfortable.

If you don’t have the space or budget for a full shower bench, a tile shower seat offers a simple and relatively affordable way to boost comfort and make a space more accommodating.

6. Install Stylish Grab Bars

Grab bars provide stability when entering or exiting the shower, and today’s options can be as sleek as your fixtures, blending seamlessly into your design. In this sophisticated black-and-white bathroom, designed by @pike_custom_buildersnj, black metal grab bars coordinate with the shower fixtures and colors in the patterned tile. We love how the black grout adds sleek contrast with the white tile while also creating a visual through-line between the surfaces.

Pro Tip: Even if you don’t add grab bars right away, consider adding blocking in your shower walls so the necessary support is there if you decide to install them later.

Featuring: Artisan Conte Gris and Signature Bianco Gloss. Design and photography by @pike_custom_buildersnj.

7. Rethink Your Vanity

The standard vanity height—31.5″ not including the countertop—may be too low for you to comfortably perform your daily routines. If you find yourself straining your back to reach the sink, consider raising it to the kitchen counter standard of 34.5″. Alternatively, if you find the standard too tall to accommodate your height or mobility aids, you can lower your vanity instead.

In this design by @oakandmend, the vanity includes a recessed area for a stool, creating a comfortable space for morning and evening routines. Tucking the stool under the countertop keeps the bathroom clear of obstacles, and it can easily be removed to make space for a wheelchair. We love how the Alto Beachwalk chevron tile (this tile is no longer available; shop chevron tile for a similar look) creates a stunning backsplash for this elegant vanity.

8. Add Accessible Storage

Shower caddies often create clutter and can be difficult to reach—especially when hung high over the showerhead. A built-in shower niche offers a smarter solution, blending form and function in one. Niches keep essentials within easy reach and off the floor, reducing trip hazards while adding a design focal point. For even more versatility, consider installing multiple niches at different heights, as shown in this marble-look shower, to serve everyone from children to seated adults.

One of our 2025 trend predictions was an increased interest in wellness-focused spaces. But self-care is so much more than just a trend; it’s a mindset that enables you to show up at your best: for yourself, your family and your community.

In today’s busy world, our homes play a bigger role than ever in how we care for ourselves. The bathroom, in particular, has the potential to become more than a functional space—it can be a daily retreat. From the quiet calm of a warm shower to the ritual of getting ready each morning, these everyday moments set the tone for how we feel and how we show up for others. By weaving wellness into your bathroom design, you can transform it into a personal sanctuary that supports relaxation, balance and well-being. Here are nine ideas to inspire your own spa-like escape.

1. Create Serenity With Mixed Finishes

Mixing glossy and matte finishes is a subtle way to create visual texture in your space, creating a feeling of tranquility. The glossy finish reflects light, brightening the room, while the matte finish offers a soothing respite. This luxurious bathroom, designed by Timber Trails, combines Queen Beige polished marble with San Dona honed marble tile, creating a subtly sophisticated space.

Featuring: Queen Beige Polished and San Dona Honed. Design by Timber Trails. Photography by John and Maura Stoffer.

2. Spa Bathroom Ideas

Beige, brown and ochre are calming bathroom colors that evoke a feeling of warmth. This spa-like bathroom, designed by Nikki Chu, showcases the Macchia Vecchia marble-look tile. While the color palette remains soft, the tiles’ dramatic veining adds an invigorating sense of movement, making this space at once restive and rejuvenating.

3. Sensory Bathroom Ideas

The Kelli Fontana Tommas Classico adds visual and tactile texture to this space. The raised surface provides an energizing component by stimulating the sense of touch, while the crisp white marble-look creates a calming effect, making this the perfect place to start or end your day.

This luxurious bathroom features a fluted marble-look wall tile and checkerboard patterned floor tile.
Featuring: Kelli Fontana Tommas Classico, Kelli Fontana Inlay Proper in: Eden Ode and Florence Lace, and Kelli Fontana Patina Siren Mirror.

4. Relaxing Bathroom Ideas

A corner seat provides a place to rest and relax in your shower. A seat may also be a necessity for people with mobility issues, and it is a great addition if you’re looking to make your home more adaptable for aging in place. As this gorgeous shower demonstrates, it can also be quite stylish.

5. Increase Your Connectivity to Nature

Colors and textures inspired by the outdoors help boost serotonin and ground you in the natural world. Blues, greens, earth tones and wood looks all relax and rejuvenate the senses. While natural wood might not be ideally suited to the dampness of a bathroom, a wood-look tile, like the Violin Decor tile shown here, will still contribute to a soothing space.

6. Declutter With a Shower Niche

Ditch the shower caddy and store your shampoo in style with an integrated shower niche. Showcasing a favorite patterned or mosaic tile in your niche will elevate your overall bathroom design. These niches are also adaptable to your space; you can install multiple niches to meet your needs or create one long shelf.

Sign up for emails.

7. Surround Yourself With Soothing Natural Stone

Nothing says luxury like natural stone. The unique tones and veining found in marble, slate and travertine will make your space truly one of a kind. This opulent bathroom features Volakas marble throughout; the natural veining adds movement, while the rich beige and grey tones infuse the space with serene tranquility.

8. Create an Invigorating Pattern

When designing your self-care haven, the most important consideration is finding what appeals most to you. Incorporating a bold pattern to showcase your personality may be more appealing than natural stone. The Big Sur by Jeffrey Alan Marks in Off the Hook tile, shown here, features an artistic pattern with six distinct tile faces, offering a wealth of creative possibilities.

Shop our full selection of patterned tiles to find a design that reflects your style.

9. Add an Interesting Focal Point

A tile focal point–whether it’s a stylish picture frame accent or a floor-to-ceiling stripe–adds interest to your space. Mosaics and patterned tiles, like the Toris Bandes tile shown here, add shape, movement and design. Play with contrasting and complementary patterns, textures and shapes to find a look that embodies your zen bathroom design.

This contemporary shower features wood-look porcelain tile and a band of white with black lined diamond-patterned tile and black half-hexagon mosaic tile floor.
Featuring: Amazona Amendoa Wood Look (this tile is no longer available; achieve a similar look with Rovere Honey), Trois Bandes, and Signature Black Matte Square Pencil.

Creating your self-care sanctuary is easier than you think! Shop our wide selection of bathroom tile to find the style that brings you serenity. Need more assistance? Schedule a free design consultation and let us help you bring your dream space to life.

Take your space to the dark side—in style. While bright colors bring energy, black tile lends depth, elegance and plenty of personality to any shower design.

From sleek and modern to classic and luxurious, these 12 black shower tile ideas prove just how versatile this bold neutral can be. Read on to see if this dramatic hue could be right for you.

1. Choose Chic and Unique Handmade-Look Tile

Perfectly imperfect handmade-look tile features purposeful variations in surface texture, glaze and edges to achieve a popular handcrafted aesthetic. On a black tile—like the Tribeca Basalt shown here—those subtle variations create visual richness while preserving the elegance of a single color.

Shop our wide selection of handmade-look tile for more one-of-a-kind styles. 👉

2. Create “Pointed” Contrast

Halfway between a subway tile and a hexagon lies the picket tile: a gracefully pointed, elongated shape with gentle geometric flair. While dark colors are sometimes used to create a smaller, cozier feel within a space, here matte black tiles are deployed to the opposite effect; installing the picket shapes horizontally and finishing both black and white tiles with matching black grout makes the interior of this generously sized walk-in feel even more expansive.

3. Let Your Hex-Cellent Taste Shine

The slightly reflective surface of a glossy finish adds brightness—even to a dark tile design. Here, the repeating six-sided Imperial Black Gloss Hex mosaic tile creates a sleek surface for light to play across. White grout further highlights the shapes, adding visual interest; however, black grout would create a more subtle—but equally stunning—look.

4. Make a Tonal Shift With Pewter Tile

Maintain your goth vibes while softening the palette a few degrees with a dark grey hue. This stylish space, designed by @hutchdesignbuild, features Imperial Pewter Matte subway tile. Adding tonal complexity while preserving a chic, neutral tableau, the deep, steely grey pairs perfectly with black hardware and creamy white walls.

This elegant shower features pewter subway tile walls.

5. Select Sleek Subway Tile

While white may be the color most commonly associated with subway tile, this timeless design staple comes in a wide array of colors, finishes and patterns. In this sleek shower designed by @expressflooring615, Signature Black Gloss Bevel subway tile is installed in a brick-lay pattern on the exterior and a herringbone pattern inside. White grout highlights the classic layouts and helps tie the dark design to the room’s lighter elements.

6. Craft a Minimalist Masterpiece

As exemplified in this walk-in shower, pairing large format porcelain tiles with matching dark grout offers a sleek and continuous look. With a realistic slate texture that’s particularly luxe, Burma Grafito tiles continue from shower walls to shower floor—and into the room beyond—with a curbless design. In addition to being fashion-forward, curbless showers like this example offer built-in flexibility for homeowners thinking ahead to aging in place; “going curbless” can help reduce tripping hazards and more easily accommodate mobility aids like walkers or chairs. With universal design features and streamlined, trend-proof style, this bathroom is truly ageless.

7. Carve Out a (Shower) Niche

Combining form and function, a shower niche offers the perfect opportunity to showcase your style. In this stunning design, @eatoncustomhomes created a custom niche in the shape of five Black Hex wall tiles, with the contrasting White Hex tile inside. The result is a design that’s both stylish and playful.

8. Add a Dynamic Pattern

Concentric circular motifs are installed in a dynamic checkerboard pattern, creating an abstract sense of movement in this contemporary shower. The Nikki Chu Zulu Graphite tile features a hand-drawn look with a multidirectional design, allowing for a wealth of personalized layouts. Pairing perfectly with the cement-look Nikki Chu Fusi Carbon Steel tile, this black-and-white tile puts a fresh spin on a dark look.

Discover more fashion-forward designs in contemporary neutrals in our exclusive Nikki Chu collection.

9. Create a Sense of Movement

Choosing shapes and materials that create a sense of movement across your shower can make the space feel larger and add visual interest to a monochromatic palette. In this fashionable shower, the diamond-shaped Chalk Dark RMB tile (this tile is no longer available; achieve a similar look with Diamond City Black tile) is installed in a zigzag pattern, drawing the eye across the width of the wall. The leather-like texture adds a subtle tactile element for extra depth.

10. Add Dimension With Frame Tile

Even a simple design can stand out when you choose a framed or beveled tile. The raised “frame” around the subway tile catches the light, creating dimension even in this dark shower. Our new and exclusive Signature tile collection includes framed and beveled tiles in a variety of colors and sizes.

11. Go Natural With Limestone

Available in hues ranging from rich beige to sleek silver and deep black, limestone is a natural material currently enjoying a moment in interior design. In this @venicecontracting-designed shower, Noir Chevron tile graces the back wall. The V-shape adds a sense of movement, enhanced by crisp white grout lines.

12. Combine Durability and Style With Marble-Look Tile

Luxurious black marble brings unique style to any space, but if you want a design that’s as low-maintenance as it is stylish, porcelain or ceramic marble-look tile offers the best of both worlds. West Bay Homes designed this teenager’s bathroom using Marmi Classico Nero Venato marble-look porcelain tile. With realistic veining and rectified edges, this tile mimics the appearance of a single block of stone, while porcelain’s fuss-free durability (no sealing required!) makes it ideal for any age.
